Promoting education and achievement of adults learning English
The number of adults learning English as a second language is increasing across the United States. State, local, and program staff are seeking information, technical assistance, and resources to guide them in establishing and improving programs.
For over 30 years, CAL has served as a leader in the education of adults learning English. We continue to build on our long history of providing evidence-based resources and effective support for practitioners working with this population. Our website provides information about our research-based services for programs working with adult English learners and also provides access to a library of archived resources available as free downloadable PDFs.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) became effective on July 1, 2015 to promote alignment and coordination of core programs across a variety of agencies. Learn more about WIOA.
