Beth serves as a Language Testing Specialist at CAL, developing test items and rater training and scoring materials for the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment. She primarily works with the lower grade clusters, developing content across the four language domains of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
Before coming to CAL, Beth worked in English language instruction abroad and stateside. After serving as a language assistant in Bordeaux, France, she moved to Virginia and worked as both an ESOL and elementary classroom teacher. Beth holds a B.A. in Linguistics and French Language and Literature, and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education with ESL Program Specialist certification. In her free time, Beth enjoys traveling and cheering on all of her favorite Pittsburgh sports teams.
