Basra Abdillahi-Chire is responsible for coding and developing QTI packages for interactive test items including creating and editing HTML, CSS and XML files in collaboration with the Test Development team and Production Team.

Basra has also developed illustrations for use in language assessment and various print and online visual communications. Her love of comics, art, and everything pop culture led her down the path of pursuing a career in illustration/front end web development.

She is a native of Djibouti, has lived in France and received her BA in French Literatures from the University of Clermont-Ferrand. She studied Graphic Design at Prince George’s Community College, Maryland. Prior to joining CAL, she has been working for several years at the World Bank as a translator. She is fluent in Somali, French and proficient in Spanish. She enjoys staying current with the world’s events, Zumba and creating illustrations in her free time
