Ashley joined the Language Assessment Division in June 2022 as a Language Testing Specialist, developing and refining test items for the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment. She primarily works with grade clusters 2-3 and 4-5 across the four language domains of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. She also works on the team responsible for refreshing the Alternate English Language Assessment, known as ALTELLA.

Prior to joining CAL, she served as a K-5 EL teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina and then as a high school EL teacher in Phoenix, Arizona. She holds a B.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from Liberty University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (TESL) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In her free time, Ashley enjoys playing board games, visiting scenic places in Arizona like Flagstaff and Sedona, and reading books in coffee shops.
