Annellei Hernandez

Analleli brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to multilingual learners. A first-generation Chicana born and raised in inner-city Chicago, she is a simultaneous bilingual who has dedicated her career to honoring and expanding the linguistic practices of bi/multilingual students. 

Analleli holds an M.A. in Reading from Northeastern Illinois University, an M.A. in Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Strategic Educational Leadership at National Louis University. 

Most recently she served as the Assistant Director of Professional Learning Curriculum at WIDA, where she led program planning and oversight, supervised professional learning teams, and coordinated cross-functional projects to support high-quality instruction for multilingual learners. Prior to that, she served as WIDA’s Assistant Director of Educator Learning, Research, and Practice, designing and evaluating professional learning resources, particularly for Spanish-English bilingual educators, and leading trainer and leadership development initiatives. Before joining WIDA, Analleli served as an EL Liaison and Dual Language Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools, where she led program coordination, educator coaching, and curriculum development grounded in best practices for dual language education. 

Outside of work, Analleli enjoys hiking through mountain trails, exploring museums near and far, and seeking out new dessert shops.
