Black History month, also known as African American history month, is celebrated each year in February to recognize the many achievements and ongoing contributions of African Americans and those of African descent across the globe.
As part of our ongoing mission of valuing diversity and promoting access, equity, and mutual understanding, the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) is proud to commemorate Black History Month by highlighting selected resources and online information that honor the linguistic legacy that generations of African Americans have contributed to our nation’s cultural milieu.
