Imagine you were in Lena’s position. What would you do to solve this problem?
- In this situation, I would select a placement test that would be efficient to administer and score, like a shortcut proficiency test, as this would give me a quick estimation of my students’ proficiency levels and help me make placement decisions without needing support from other instructors. I might also administer student questionnaires so that I could easily learn more about my students’ backgrounds and motivations and then use this information to supplement information gathered from the test results.
