Regional Organizations
Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL)
NECTFL is a multi-language association of pre-kindergarten through university teachers. Although nominally a regional association, its activities, publications, and annual conference attract participants from around the country and the globe. Currently, about 40 states and 10 foreign countries send a total of 2,500 educators to the Northeast Conference each year. The Web site has many useful resources and links.
Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSCTFL)
CSCTFL offers a wide range of resources, including online material and professional development activities to language educators at all levels in 17 central states.
Pacific Northwest Council for Languages (PNCFL)
PNCFL provides a wide range of professional resources
for language educators in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Washington, and Wyoming, including professional development, publications, and advocacy.
Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT)
SCOLT offers professional resources for language educators in 13 Southern states, including publications, advocacy, scholarhips, and awards..
Southwest Conference on Language Teaching (SWCOLT)
The Southwest Conference on Language Teaching is a regional foreign language teachers' organization that hosts an annual conference in partnership with state foreign language teacher associations, provides online resources, and professional activities. The participating states in SWCOLT are Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai'i, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.
