The Illinois Resource Center provided support for CAL’s nationwide two-way immersion (TWI) outreach and public relations efforts, including the creation and updating of a two-way immersion website and directory, an email bulletin, and responding to questions from the public. The Two-Way Immersion website provides online access to a wealth of resources from the project and CAL is continuing to make the archived website available for convenient online access to these resources.
Resources available on the archived Two-Way Immersion website include
Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education
This resource was developed as a tool to help dual language programs (two-way immersion, heritage language, foreign language immersion, or developmental bilingual programs) with planning and ongoing implementation.
Directory of Two-Way Bilingual Programs in the U.S.
Creating of this directory was supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Education from 1991-2004. To support the field, CAL is continuing to make this online directory available for searching and, upon request from many programs, we have reopened the directory so programs can add or change information.
Evaluator’s Toolkit for Dual Language Programs
The purpose of this Toolkit is to assist staff in dual language programs that serve English language learners (ELLs) to understand how to meet assessment and accountability guidelines.
