Jimmy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in Communication Disorders. He earned his graduate Degree from Gallaudet University in Speech Language Pathology. He has held a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology for more than 30 years.

During his career he has worked in a variety of environments including an urban hospital outpatient clinic, a K-12 public school system, a specialized education program, a higher education/ university environment, government contracting, and a nonprofit membership organization. Most recently, Jimmy worked at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. Previously he worked for a government contractor in a variety of capacities including HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, Project/Program Management, Organizational Development, and Business Development. Jimmy also worked at the Gallaudet University, Department of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences and the Hearing and Speech Center for 15 years.
