Consortium Tagline

The National Foreign Language Center (NFLC) at the University of Maryland, working under the auspices of the STARTALK project, has established the Consortium for Language Teaching & Learning to help encourage ongoing language learning, share information about resources for language teaching and learning, and foster collaboration among organizations that are committed to promoting language learning.

The primary deliverable of the project is the Heritage Program directory. This free online resource, currently in development, will house data about Heritage Language Programs around the country. It will be searchable by a variety of topics, including language, state, and program type. The directory features heritage language programs in STARTALK and other heritage languages and is a rich resource of data for anyone interested in continued language learning.

Collaborating with organizations around the country that focus on language teaching and learning is a key goal of the Consortium. Consortium partners represent a wide range of organizations around the country that are committed to fostering language teaching & learning. Visit the partner section of the website to learn more about our growing list of partners. We encourage you to visit the consortium partner websites to learn more about their work and available resources.
