As a Language Testing Specialist at CAL, Erika develops test content for the ACCESS for ELLs assessment. She develops items for Grades 6-8 and 9-12 in the Listening, Speaking, and Writing domains, and contributes to the development of rater training materials.
Before coming to CAL, Erika taught oral communication and academic writing at the University of Illinois as a graduate teaching assistant. She has experience developing listening test items for ETS’ Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) and rating oral and written student responses for the University of Illinois’ English Placement Test.
Erika holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the University of Illinois and Bachelor’s degrees in Linguistics and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh.
