Linda Harklau is a professor in the TESOL & world language education program and linguistics program at the University of Georgia. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Harklau joined CAL’s Board of Trustees in 2014 and serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.
Dr. Harklau’s research focuses on the academic development and high school-to-college transition of adolescent and young adult immigrants in the United States. Her work has appeared in journals including Educational Policy, Journal of Literacy Research, Anthropology & Education Quarterly, TESOL Quarterly, and Linguistics and Education. She is coeditor of volumes including Generation 1.5 Meets College Composition (Lawrence Erlbaum, 1999) and Linguistic Minority Students Go to College (Routledge, 2012).
