Refugee Cuts Hit Fort Worth Schools: ‘We just aren’t getting that many kids anymore’

A Texas school district wants to offer fewer services to elementary students who are learning English, because the community's refugee and immigrant population has decreased. The district plans to close language centers at several elementary schools by the start of the next school year and will reassign instructors to schools with larger groups of ESL students.
