TESOL 2016: Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for this annual convention. In 2016 TESOL International Association will celebrate its 50th anniversary in Baltimore, Maryland. CAL is proud to be a sponsor of this event.

In Memoriam: Alan Davies

CAL is saddened by the passing of Alan Davies, Professor Emeritus of Applied Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, and a towering figure in the field of language testing, in particular in the testing of English for specific purposes and English for academic purposes.

2015 Dora Johnson Awards

The ACTFL Arabic SIG announces the 2015 Dora Johnson Awards, sponsored by the Qatar Foundation International, which provide funding for 15 K-12 Arabic language educators to support attendance at the 2015 ACTFL Convention.

In Memoriam: Christopher N. Candlin

CAL is saddened by the passing of Christopher N. Candlin, a major force in the field of applied linguistics and instrumental in its establishment as a respected discipline in Australia and worldwide.

Current BEST Plus Test Available for Purchase and Use

CAL will continue to sell the current version of BEST Plus, which is authorized by OCTAE for use through June 30, 2016.

Once the notice of BEST Plus 2.0 approval is published in the Federal Register, CAL will begin the transition to BEST Plus 2.0. We will work closely with programs to make this transition as easy as possible.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated at the turn of the Chinese calendar. February 19th marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year for 2015. It is the longest public holiday in China and is observed by Chinese communities worldwide.
