Equity in Two-way Immersion: Practitioners' Perspectives on Raising the Status of Spanish

Participants will learn how practitioners in elementary two-way immersion (TWI) programs can cultivate an environment at the school and classroom level where English and Spanish have equal status and ethno-linguistic diversity is actively valued. The presenter will share research findings on how the TWI model and practitioners' efforts counter English-only ideologies.
