Developing Spanish Social and Academic Discourse in a DL Classroom

In order to attain bilingualism, biliteracy and cross-cultural competence, teachers must provide students with ample opportunities for extended academic discourse in the two languages. This session will focus on how to elicit both social and academic Spanish to ensure not only the development of biliteracy, but also bilingualism.

Para que nuestros alumnos lleguen a ser completamente bilingües y biletrados necesitan múltiples oportunidades para usar las dos lenguas a nivel del discurso tanto en contextos formales como informales. En esta sesión se presentarán estrategias para desarrollar el lenguaje académico y el lenguaje social en español a nivel del discurso.
