The Guiding Principles and Young Emergent Bilingual Learners

In this panel session we will discuss why, with the increasing number of dual language programs growing at the K and pre-school levels, it is essential to review the Dual Language Guiding Principles to determine their appropriateness to the instruction of young emergent bilingual learners. We will focus in particular on Instruction (Strand 3) and Family and Community (Strand 6). The session will close with commentary from a principal and parent perspective.
